Welcome to the Homebuyer Education Center!


Please follow these Instructions:
1 ) Read/Study the manual titled "PreHome Ownership Education Course". Click on the English Pre-Homeownership Education Manual or Spanish Pre-Homeownership Education Manual Part 1 and Spanish Pre-Homeownership Manual Part 2 or Landlord Manual. You can study them on-line or download and print. Then Register.

Online Registration: Lender/Broker and Borrower complete the Online Registration Form together and submit. Then print the Course Content Review and the Monthly Expense Analysis forms . Complete these two forms and have with you at the time of the interview

Fax Registration: download the Registration Form, Course Content Review, and Monthly Expense Analysis forms. Complete, and fax to 336-896-1927.

Spanish versions: Spanish Registration Form, Spanish Course Content Review, and Spanish Monthly Expense Analysis.

For Landlord Counseling registration use either process and check the "Landlord Counseling" box on the Registration form.

*ALL INFORMATION ON THE FORMS MUST BE COMPLETE BEFORE THE PROCESS CAN BEGIN.*


2 ) Once the completed Registration Form is received, a Housing Counselor will contact the borrower during the time chosen on the Registration Form to conduct the telephone interview. If the completed Registration Form is submitted before noon, you may request counseling the following business day.

The interview will last approximately 20-30 minutes. You will be asked additional questions to verify your understanding of the home buying process and have the opportunity to ask questions of the counselor to further enhance your learning experience and understanding. We hope you will have a pleasant experience.

3 ) A Certificate of Completion will be faxed or emailed to the Lender/Broker contact person listed on the Registration Form after the interview is successfully completed.

Messages will be returned within 24 hours during business hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM in all time zones). Please refrain from leaving additional messages within the same hour as this extends the time before your call will be returned.

PRICING

A fee of $125 will be billed to the lender/broker indicated on the Registration Form.

If we have made several attempts to reach the borrower for the interview and learn that the interview request has been cancelled but we have not been notified, a $30 charge will apply.
